Off the screen, wherever we can
Arbor writes lessons for you to teach and worksheets you print, not hours of screen time for a seven-year-old. Little kids learn best with a person, a book, and twenty good minutes. Older students do need to write and research, and we'll say so plainly, but a screen is never the default.
You're the teacher, not the supervisor
We take the planning, the scheduling, and the record-keeping. We don't take your seat at the table. The best part of homeschooling is the part you do together, so that's the part we hand back to you instead of automating away.
School should be part of the day, not all of it

How is this different from a boxed curriculum?+
A box is frozen the day it ships, and you're on your own with it. If it's too hard, too easy, or just not landing by October, your only move is buying another box. Arbor is built fresh for each kid and adapts lesson by lesson: it levels up as they master skills, weaves in what they love, and replans around the weeks life gets messy. And when you're stuck, a real person (Shelby or Nate) is one message away.
We already homeschool. Can we switch mid-year?+
Yes. Tell Arbor what each kid has already covered this year and it builds the plan from where they actually are, not from square one. Keep any curriculum you love by marking that subject "we use our own program," and Arbor plans around it. Your records start fresh from your first Arbor lesson.
How is this different from just using ChatGPT myself?+
ChatGPT forgets your family between chats and hands you walls of text to sort out. Are the lessons actually any good?+

Say the writing runs too long or the math needs more practice and every lesson in that subject after it comes out that way. You always have the final say, and the longer you use it the more it reads like your homeschool.
Is my kid talking to an AI?+
No, and that's on purpose. There is no chatbot for children anywhere in Arbor. Arbor writes the lesson, you read it first, and you teach it, on paper if you print it. The AI is a tool on your side of the table, and your child never has to meet it.
What ages is Arbor for?+
Pre-K through 12th grade. Pre-K stays light on purpose: a few gentle subjects and short parent-led moments to get an almost-kindergartner ready, no pressure. High school works a little differently, because a transcript is built from courses and credits rather than grades, so Arbor plans it that way and keeps the records. We're also straight about what we don't write ourselves at that level: the algebra track and lab sciences need a real program with a verified answer key and real labs, and we help you pick one and keep it on the schedule.
Will my kid be on a screen all day?+
No. Arbor writes the lesson for you to teach and a worksheet you print, so a school day can happen entirely at the kitchen table with paper and a pencil. Print the lesson and you don't need a device open at all. Older students do real writing and research, and a teenager may type an essay or use a math program you picked, but that's your call. The screen is a tool here, never the teacher.
What if my kid is behind, or ahead?+
Arbor meets them where they are and adjusts. Master something and it moves on. Struggle and it slows down and adds practice. There's no grade-level box to feel boxed in by, and a kid can be ahead in one subject and steady in another.
